The question that often enters a Christians mind about our prayers being answered is are they answered immediately or is there a delay.
A typical Christian that carries a healthy prayers life,
often finds themselves asking God, did you hear me? Are you listening? Are you there? It seems that most of the time when we pray it is a fulfillment of time before our prayer is answered. And if we are not persistent in talking with the Lord on a particular prayer and following back up with him over and over again until we see the Lord answer our prayer. We tend to forget the prayer we have asked him. Then when the Lord does answer it we have forgot what we had asked him.
It is in the period of time between, "when we first pray the prayer and when the Lord actually answers the prayer" that, we find a battle of keeping "strong faith in the Lord that he will answer our prayer quickly". There is a underline current that teams up with un-belief and fights against our faith resulting in us not getting our answer, Immediately! I know that all of our prayers don't come immediately.
The root of that current that influences our faith in the outcome of our prayer, comes from the Old Testament understanding given to us in Daniel.
In the Old Testament when prayer was made there was war in heaven and at times it could hinder the prayers from reaching immediately. We can see this is Daniel 10:12-13, where the angel spoke to Daniel and said " From the first day that thou prayed I left heaven with your answer, but the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me". (modified by Keith ).
In the New Testament dispensation of time, "which is now". We find when we pray and our prayers are not answered immediately, we find this Old Testament Principle of "war in heaven", lingering in our spirit and hindering our faith and frustrating our patients while we wait on the Lord to manifest his will and answer to our prayer.
In trying to build our faith, I would like to bring to our understanding of the New Testament principle that our Lord Jesus Christ put into action for us when he died on the cross. Now we can rest assure that when we pray our prayers can be answered Immediately!
I take you to the hill where Jesus Christ of Nazareth, our Savior and Lord, died on the cross and was buried in the grave for 3 days. The Bible says in Rev. 1:18, that he took back the Keys to death and hell and the grave. There for telling us when he died he went into the earth and wared against the devil and won and took back the keys to death and hell and the grave. So death had no power to hinder prayers any more.
When Jesus died he went into the grave and wared against the devil once and for all. He is already defeated. Our prayers are not hindered when we pray. Jesus holds the keys to the kingdom. And Jesus Answers our Prayers when we pray.
So Remember when you pray, that Jesus has paid for it all.
And your Prayers are answered IMMEDIATELY!!!!! Lord willing!
